* தேவையைக் குறைத்து கொள்ளுங்கள். மிஞ்சும் பணத்தில் பிறருக்கு தர்மம் செய்யுங்கள்.

* 'நான் மிகச் சிறியவன்' 'கடவுள் ஒருவரே பெரியவர்' என்னும் உண்மையை உணருங்கள்.

* முரட்டுத்தனம் கொண்ட மனதை, புத்தி என்னும் கடிவாளத்தால் கட்டுப்படுத்த முயலுங்கள்.

* கண் கண்ட தெய்வமான பெற்றோருக்கு பணிவிடை செய்வது பிள்ளைகளின் கடமை.

* நல்ல எண்ணங்களை வளருங்கள்.நல்ல வார்த்தைகளை பேசுங்கள். பிறருக்கு உதவுங்கள். கடவுளை அடையலாம்.

* ஆசைக்கு ஓர் உச்ச வரம்பை வைத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள். வாழ்க்யில் மலர்ச்சியும், முன்னேற்றமும் தானாக வரும்

* அன்பெனும் உன்னத உணர்வு ஆன்மிக உணர்வை அளிக்கும். ஒற்றுமையே உயர்வை கொடுக்கும்.

* அன்பில் பிறக்கும் பொறுப்புணர்வால் வாழ்வில் தெய்வீகம் உண்டாகும்.

What is the highest Sadhana? Bhagawan lovingly reminds us today.

Where there is Love, there God is certainly evident. Love more and more people, love more and more intensely; transform the love into service and transform the service into worship - that is the highest sadhana. There is no living being without the spark of love; even a mad man loves something or somebody intensely. But you must recognise this love as but a reflection of the Premaswarupa (the Embodiment of Love) that is your reality, the God who is residing in your heart. Without that spring of Love that bubbles in your heart, you will not be prompted to love all. Recognise that spring, rely on it more and more, develop its possibilities, try to irrigate the whole world with it, discard all touch of self from it, and do not seek anything in return for it from those to whom you extend it. In your daily affairs, do not create factions, or revel in hatred. See the good in others and the faults in yourselves. Revere others as having God installed in them; revere yourself also as the seat of God. Make your heart pure so He can reside therein.

Have we lit the lamp of wisdom within? Bhagawan lovingly reminds us today to introspect.

To light a lamp, you need four things - a container, oil, a wick and a match box. If any one of these is missing, you cannot light the lamp. This lamp can, however, remove only the outside darkness. How is the darkness in the heart to be removed? It can be dispelled only by the Light of Wisdom (Jnana Jyothi). How is this Light of Wisdom, this spiritual light, to be lit? This also needs four elements - detachment (Vairagya) is the container, devotion (Bhakti) is the oil, one-pointed concentration (Ekagrata) is the wick and knowledge of the Supreme Truth (Jnana) is the match stick. Without these four, the light of spiritual wisdom cannot shine. Of these, primary requisite is the spirit of vairagya (renunciation). Without detachment, all knowledge of scriptures is of no avail. What is this detachment? It is absence of attachment to the body. Give up the ego-feeling, which makes one think of the "I" all the time.

What is the attitude with which volunteers of the Sathya Sai Organisation must take up service? Bhagawan lovingly gives a few guidelines today.

As dedicated sevaks (servitors), whether your beneficiaries thank you or traduce you, gladly perform your allotted tasks. For, you are serving yourselves, not them, remember! Bouquets or brickbats, receive them with equal calm. It is only those who identify themselves with the body, that exult or feel pained! Remember, you are the Dehi (Indweller), not the deha (body) - this will give you strength to serve well. While doing Seva do not argue that this particular task is yours and that is not; do not be sticklers for boundaries and limits. Support and complement each other in joyful co-operation. Act as ideal satsanga (noble company), infusing energy and enthusiasm to all. Also, do not carry a greater burden than that is allotted to you and do not interfere with what other people are doing, or criticise others. Malice, envy or competition must have no place in your heart. Do not rush about discovering faults where none exists. That is misdirected enthusiasm. Instead, spread peace and joy!

Why should we be consistent in executing all our duties? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

All of you have vast resources of powers. When you do not utilise them while discharging duties to yourself and to the society that sustains you, you are only becoming a target for ridicule. When you are on a railway station platform, waiting for the train that is due and you hear the announcement that it will arrive five hours later, how do you feel? Don’t you fling abusive words at the train? When the mere coaches receive from you such a treatment, how much worse treatment would you deserve if you do not fulfill your duty and your responsibilities to the society? Utilise your skills and learning as consistently and effectively as duty demands. Unless used, even a watch gets rusted, what can be said therefore of unused skill? The body has not been granted by God to be fed, well clothed and to be paraded around in pride. The body has to be exercised to keep it trim as a tool for serving others.

* நமது பெருமையை பறைசாற்றுவதை விட உலகிற்கு நன்மை செய்வது வாழ்வின் குறிக்கோளாக இருக்கட்டும்.

* பொறுமையைப் பின்பற்றினால் உலகம் உங்கள் காலடியில் கிடக்கும். பூமியைப் போல பொறுமையுடன் வாழுங்கள்.

*கீழ்ப்படிதலை அறிந்தவனே கட்டளையிடும் அதிகாரத்தையும் பெறுவான்.

* இடைவிடாமல் பணியில் ஈடுபடுங்கள். அதற்காக அடிமையாகப் பணியாற்றக்கூடாது.

* கடவுளை தந்தையாக ஏற்றுக் கொண்ட நாம், சக மனிதர்களை உடன்பிறந்த சகோதரர்களாக கருதுவது அவசியம்.

Today everyone celebrates Shivarathri (auspicious night). What is the significant message we must get out of it? Bhagawan lovingly gives us a powerful thought to ponder.

Who is Lord Shiva, and where is He to be found? Many answers are given, including Kailash as His place of residence. The true answer is, ‘Isavasyam Idam Sarvam’ (All this is pervaded by Isa). He is omnipresent. There is no place, object or being where God is not present. Correct your outlook and recognise this unity in the apparent diversity around you. When God is omnipresent, what need is there to go in search of Him? The search is meaningless. If one gets rid of attachment and hatred, one will experience the Divinity inherent within. This is the sadhana (spiritual exercise) one has to do today - to get rid of desire and hatred which conceal the God within. Many people ask: "Swami! Show us the way." All you have to do is to go back to the source from which you came. Where is the need for seeking the way? The Bhagavatha has declared that it is the natural destiny of every living being to go back to where each one came from.

What is the secret to continue to live joyfully in surrender, during highs and lows? Bhagawan very sweetly explains to us today.

A time may come when you become tired and weak. Then you should pray thus: “Lord, things are beyond my capacity. I am finding it difficult to do any effort. Please give me strength!” At first, God stands at a distance, watching your efforts, like the invigilator teacher watching students write answers during examination. Then when you shed attachment to sensual pleasures (bhoga) and take to good deeds and selfless service, God comes nearer to you. Like the Sun, He waits outside your closed door. Like a servant who knows their master’s rights and their own limitations, God doesn’t bang the door but simply waits outside. When one opens the door just a little, like the Sun, God rushes in and promptly drives darkness out from within. So all you need is the discrimination (viveka) to pray and the spiritual wisdom (jnana) to remember Him.
