* சுயநலத்தை மறந்தால் மட்டுமே, பிறருக்கு நன்மை செய்வீர்கள்.

* தலைமைப் பொறுப்பு என்பது கடினமான பணி. அதை தக்க வைத்துக் கொள்ள சேவகனுக்கும் சேவகனாக தொண்டாற்ற வேண்டும்.

* தியானம் செய்தால் நல்ல சிந்தனை மனதிற்குள் நுழையும். கெட்ட சிந்தனைகள் மறைந்து விடும்.

* தியானத்தின் சக்தியை எளிதாக நினைக்க வேண்டாம். மனம் விரும்பியபடி எல்லாம் மாற்றும் சக்தி தியானத்திற்கு இருக்கிறது.

* புதரில் பற்றிய தீ போல தியானப்பயிற்சி மனக்கவலையை போக்க வல்ல நெருப்பாக இருக்கிறது.

* கடவுள் நம்பிக்கை இல்லாதவர்களும் தியானம் செய்வதால் வாழ்வில் முன்னேற்றத்தைப் பெற முடியும்.

* மனிதன் சோறு உண்பதை விட்டாலும் விடலாம். ஆனால் தனியிடத்தில் தியானம் செய்ய மறக்கக் கூடாது.

*செயல்கள் அனைத்தையும் கடவுளுக்கு அளிக்கும் காணிக்கையாகக் கருது.

*கடவுளுக்கு தொண்டு செய். இதை விட சிறந்த அனுபவம் வேறில்லை.

*பயந்தவன் கடவுளிடம் கடுமையை காண்கிறான். நம்பிக்கை உள்ளவன் நண்பனாக நெருங்குகிறான்.

*தியானத்தின் மூலம் உன்னிடமுள்ள தெய்வீக சக்தியை வெளிப்படுத்த முடியும்.

கடவுளின் கருணை.........................

* அறிவு, அழகு, பணம் இவற்றால் ஒரு மனிதன் ஆணவம் கொள்ளக் கூடாது. எல்லாம் கடவுளின் கருணையன்றி வேறில்லை.

* கடவுள் உழைப்பதற்கு கைகளையும், சிந்தித்து வாழ நல்ல புத்தியையும் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்.

* எப்போதும் மனதை ஏதாவது ஒரு நற்பணியில் செலுத்திக் கொண்டிருந்தால் சித்த சுத்தி என்னும் உயர்ந்த மனநிலை உண்டாகும்.

* பெரியவர்களின் நல்ல அறிவுரைகளை ஏற்பதே சிறந்தது.

What are the qualities a spiritual aspirant must be ever wary about? Bhagawan lucidly explains today so we may make ourselves worthy of His grace.

People crave worldly happiness. Analysed properly, this itself is the disease, and sufferings are but the drugs we take. In the midst of these worldly pleasures, one rarely entertains the desire to attain the Lord. Besides, it is necessary to analyse and discriminate every act of a person, for the spirit of renunciation is born out of such analysis. Without it, renunciation is difficult to get. Miserliness is like the behaviour of a dog; it has to be transformed. Anger is enemy Number 1 of the spiritual aspirant; it is like spittle and has to be treated as such. And untruth? It is even more disgusting —through untruth, the vital powers of all are destroyed. It should be treated as scavenging itself. Theft ruins life; it makes the priceless human life cheaper than a pie; it is like rotten foul smelling flesh.

What is the remedy to be free from diseases and bondage? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

The relationship between karma and karma-yoga should be properly understood. Ordinary karma (action) done with attachment or desires causes bondage. But the same action, when performed desirelessly, with selflessness, becomes karma-yoga. Our life should become a yoga (Divine Communion) rather than a 'roga' (disease). Today most of our actions result in roga because they are related to sensuous pleasures. Freedom from this disease can be obtained by pursuing the spiritual path. Spiritual path does not consist merely in singing bhajans or reciting hymns. These are good deeds. Only actions performed as a complete offering to the Divine can be regarded as spiritual. The individual who is in a state of ignorance about the Self is like the bud of a flower that has not yet bloomed. When the flower blossoms, it sheds its fragrance all round. Likewise the person who has realised the Divinity within oneself becomes a source of light and strength!

What is the message given by Adi Shankara which is relevant even today? Bhagawan lovingly reminds us today.

When Adi Shankara was residing at Varanasi with his pupils, he came across a scholar, who was immersed in complicated rules of grammar. When asked why he had taken up this intensive study, he replied that it would easily fetch him a few pieces of silver. "If I am designed a pandit, I can go to the home of some big zamindars (landlords), and hope to receive alms and offerings from them for the upkeep of my large family," he said. Shankara then advised him appropriately and charged him with self-confidence and courage. Returning to his hermitage, Shankara wrote a verse summarising the advice he gave the poor scholar thus: Bhaja Govindam, bhaja Govindam, bhaja Govindam, moodha mate. Samprapte sannihithe kale, nahi nahi rakshati dukrun karane (Praise God, Praise God, Praise God, you foolish mind! When death approaches, rules of grammar cannot save you). The study of these verses and the inspiration derived from them will promote discrimination and detachment, and thus, prepare the mind for the vision of the Supreme.

Sometimes we feel that we don’t receive as many favors from the Lord, as others do. Is that real? What should we do to enjoy the Lord’s abundant grace? Bhagawan clarifies today.

Remember, like underground water, the Divine is there in everyone. The Lord is the Indweller in all beings; He is All-pervading. He is the Soul (Atma) of every being. He is in you as much as in everyone else. He is not more in a rich person or bigger in a fat being; His spark illumines the cave of the heart of every one. The sun shines equally on all; His Grace is falling evenly on all. It is only you that erect obstacles that prevent the rays of His Grace from warming you. Do not blame the Lord for your ignorance or foolishness or perversity. Just as underground water wells up in a gushy spring when a bore is sunk down to that depth, by constant chanting of the Divine Name, touch the spring of Divinity, so that one day it gushes out plentifully, granting you coolness and unending joy.

*மனவலிமை பெற விரும்பினால், தினமும் சிறிது நேரமாவது கடவுளைத் தியானம் செய்ய மறக்கக் கூடாது.

*துன்பத்தில் மட்டுமில்லாமல் கடவுளை இன்பத்திலும் மறப்பது கூடாது.

* பிறரிடம் சொல்வதை விட துன்பத்தை கடவுளிடம் சொல்வதால் நிம்மதி கிடைக்கும்.

*செய்த பாவம் தீரவே கடவுள் நம்மை இந்த பிறவியில் மனிதர்களாகப் பிறக்கச் செய்திருக்கிறார்.

* மகிழ்ச்சி என்பது அவரவர் மனதைப் பொறுத்தது. ஆனால், மனிதன் அதை வெளியுலகில் தேடிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறான்.

What should we always seek and pursue? Bhagawan, our Loving God kindly explains to us today.

Do not feel proud about your cleverness or intelligence or about your ability to win laurels in studies. Good character and righteous thinking are more valuable than scholastic achievements, wealth, power or intellectual abilities. Utilise your intelligence and thoughts for achieving bliss which comes from leading a life of righteousness and goodness. Let your life be dedicated to ideals. The Lord is secured and bound only by the intensity of your devotion. The Ganges of true devotion must flow from your heart. Everything that is associated with Divinity has its origin in the heart. Hence the heart should be emptied of all evil and kept pure and unsullied by right action. It may not be possible to escape the consequences of one's good and bad actions. But even a mountain of sin can be wiped out by winning the grace of the Divine. Hence one should strive to earn the love of God, which is all-embracing and all-powerful.
