What is the best
way to use the talent we have? Bhagawan lovingly guides us today.
We must
transform the divine power latent in you into skill, for undertaking any useful
activity. When knowledge is converted into skill, you acquire balance in life.
In such a state of equanimity, you will develop insight. Ennobled with such an
insight and divine power, you should undertake a noble activity. Only then it
will be most fruitful and beneficial to everyone. Always undertake noble
activities with a pure mind. Unity brings purity, and purity in turn leads to
Divinity. You should never forget the inseparable relationship between unity,
purity, and Divinity, and always strive to achieve that. You must all come
together and work together in the spirit of sacrifice. Spirituality is not a
business activity. Spirituality is divine. Spirituality is associated with
unity. This unity in diversity alone will bring you happiness. I wish that you
cultivate that principle of unity. Then, every activity undertaken by you will
acquire its due value and sanctity!

On the
auspicious occasion of Sri Rama Navami, let us learn about the inner significance
and potency of the name ‘Rama’. Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.
Sri Rama's
incarnation as a human being was for the purpose of promoting peace and
happiness in the world. His Name is very significant. The three syllables 'R',
'A' and 'Ma' indicate the three causes for human birth, Papamu (sins one
committed), Thapamu (troubles one experiences) and Ajnanamu (ignorance). ‘Ra’
represents the root letter for Fire (Agni), ‘Aa’ for Moon and ‘Ma’ for Sun.
Agni destroys everything and reduces it to ashes. The letter ‘R’ is powerful to
destroy all sins you have committed; The letter ‘Aa’ (symbolising the moon) has
the powers of cooling the ‘fevers’ man suffers from and conferring peace on
him; ‘Ma’ (Sun) dispels the darkness of ignorance and confers illumination of
wisdom. Hence, the Name Rama has the triple power of destroying sins,
conferring peace and dispelling ignorance. Chant the sweet name of Rama with a
pure, unsullied heart, in a spirit of selfless devotion and redeem your lives
by living up to Rama’s ideals.

What is the
easiest way to cure the ‘bondage’ that we knowingly or unknowingly carry in our
daily lives? Bhagawan gives us a memorable example to live in peace and joy.
If there is a
boil on the body, you apply ointment on it and cover it with a bandage until it
heals. If you do not apply ointment and tie the bandage around this wound, it
is likely to become septic and cause great harm later. Now and then you must
clean it with pure water, apply ointment again and put on a new bandage. In the
same way, in our life, there is this boil which has come up in our body in the
form of 'I'. If you want to really cure this boil of 'I', you will have to wash
it every day with the waters of love, apply the ointment of faith on it and tie
the bandage of humility around it. The bandage of humility, the ointment of
faith, and the waters of love will surely cure this disease that erupted with
this boil of 'I’.

Purify your heart and your life will become blissful. There is no point in
reading sacred texts or visiting noble souls unless you purify your heart. Let
your thoughts, words and deeds be sacred. This is the true significance of
celebrating New Year. When you undertake any task with a sacred heart, you will
certainly meet with success. You all believe you are devoted to Sai, then you
must adhere to My teachings strictly. Fill your lives with love. Stop
criticizing others. Respect even those who hate you. Hatred is a bad quality.
It will ruin you. Hence, get rid of this evil. Love everyone. When you follow
My teachings, you will certainly achieve sacred results and earn a good name.
Give up selfishness and dedicate your life for others well-being.

Why should we
give up the attitude of criticism completely? Bhagawan lovingly reminds us
today.
Embodiments of
Love, God is present in everyone. He resides in every heart. So do not confine
God to a temple, a mosque or a church. Where a human is, there God is. God
takes the form of a human (Daivam manusha rupena). As you forget and do not
realise this important fact, you indulge in criticism of others. Whom are you
criticising? Whom do you adore? Enquire for yourself. God is present in all. If
you criticise others, you criticise God. Whoever you salute, it reaches God
(Sarva jeeva namaskaram Keshavam prati gacchati) and whoever you insult or
ridicule, it also reaches God! (Sarva jeeva thiraskaram Keshavam prati
gacchati). Right from this moment, embark on a new life giving up bad thoughts
and evil qualities. Purify your heart. Let your thoughts, words and deeds be
sacred. Only then will your life be blissful.

What is the
root-cause of sorrow? What can we do to turn into an opportunity? Bhagawan
sweetly teaches us a wonderful lesson today.
Sorrow springs
from egoism, the feeling that you do not deserve to be treated so badly, and
that you are left helpless. When egoism goes, sorrow disappears. Ignorance is
just a mistake, a mistaken identity of the body as the Self! In fact, you must
each one try to become ego-less, then the Lord will accept you as His very own
flute. I encourage you to become His flute (the Murali), for then the Lord will
come to you, pick you up, put you to His lips and breathe through you and, out
of the hollowness of your heart due to the utter absence of egoism that you
have developed, He will create captivating music for all of Creation to enjoy.
Be straight without any will of your own, merge your will in the Will of God.
Inhale only the breath of God. That is Divine Life! That is what I want you all
to aspire and achieve.
